Located off the main road in one of the streets of Thyagaraya Nagar, this structure is home for a Business family. This project came to us halfway after the shell was built and the client was not happy with the outcome. We did a discussion with the client to understand their requirements and redesign it to fit in their existing structure. It was quite interesting with the given boundaries and challenges of incorporating it as well. At the entrance, two converging walls was opened out to create a lobby. Part of the Living area in the first floor was enclosed to create a pooja. This consecrated space now features wooden doors with slits to allow diffused lighting. Living space is further segregated to formal seating spaces and the dining area. One wall was opened out to create ceiling-high windows for maximum light and ventilation. This beautiful residence also has four rooms, a home theatre and a study, which follow the neutral colour palette of the living area with tastefully selected accents.
